Lets take a look at some of the best pool cleaners in SA at the moment
Now people are taught to believe everything they read on google or hear from pool shops, but been a technician you actually get the honour of testing out all the different pool cleaners at your clients homes. As a pool technician you face various problems with pool cleaners and some methods to fix them.
In all honesty a pool technician is the best person to ask for advise when it comes to what really is the best pool cleaners in SA at the moment. So my opinion here ill tell you what I think.
- Kreepy Krauly Pro – Yes you have all heard of it, seen it in pool shops and on Takealot. These awesome pool cleaners really do a fantastic job in both marbelite and fiberglass pools. They have fantastic suction power, they are robust in everyway and very seldom break. Parts are always available for them should you need and the price of it is around R3800 which is really not bad. This unit handles well with basic debris in pools but will get stuck should there be large leafs and other things like small berries. I score this cleaner a 8 out of 10 and is one of the best pool cleaners in SA
- Gemini Twinsweep – Yup probably the most basic and standard looking pool cleaner on the market, however these units last for ever and cost a fraction of the price. Parts are always available and it works well in marbelite and fiberglass pools. Beside the float pin always falling out and getting lost this unit is strong as hell and will do the job. This cleaner can suck up just about anything and very seldom gets stuck. The price on this is around R1500 and I score it a 7 out of 10 I love this unit and would say its one of the best pool cleaners in SA
- Hug Bug Pro- Now I know just about all pool cleaners which run on tracks or wheels give endless issues but funny enough not this one. It is an awesome little machine, looks good in any pool and works really nice in marbelite pools and fiberglass pools. It is quick on cleaning and really silent while doing do. I have not had any issues with there accept for having to change the tracks once a year. This unit handles well in areas with hardly any trees and stuff falling into the pool I score it a 7 out of 10 and the price goes at R4500
- Zodiac Pacer – I think this is one of the oldest pool cleaners on the market but still gets sold in high volumes. The pacer is a great cleaner the only problem is it runs with a diaphragm, which means anything small enough and sharp enough to get sucked up will tear the diaphragm. On average we end up changing the pacer diaphragm on one unit around 8 times a year. All in all they still really good pool cleaners and the price comes in at around R800 excluding the pipes. I rate this cleaner a 6 out of 10
- Robotic cleaners – Now I thought id include these into the list as these cleaners really are awesome. They do not use any suction pipes going to the skimmer and only have a power cable to the unit which is convenient. They work on a manual and app platform which is really cool if you not at home and want the pool cleaned. The basket which acts as a weir if you may is situated under the unit which makes life much easier. We have only had the pleasure of working with a few different brands in SA as not many clients want to spend the amount but from what i have seen, you either get a good unit which gives no problems or a unit which is endless problems. The cheaper the unit, the more expensive the replacement parts. The service technicians are very few so getting them fixed is another story. From my opinion they are excellent machines but SA needs to get parts and technicians who know what they doing. All in all i give these a 8 out of 10 they could very well become one of the best pool cleaners in SA

We hope this helps you if you wondering what the best pool cleaners in SA is
