How long should you run a pool pump for?
This question comes along so often and each person has there own answer to it.
Google will tell you between 6 and 8 hours but now understand something this is not America, if you are in South Africa our weather is far less harsh so yes running your pool pump between 6 and 8 hours is great but seriously it is not necessary. I own a 100,000l pool and in winter I run it for 1 hour a day, every second or third day and in summer between 2 and 3 hours everyday, I have never had a green pool and all I have ever used is a month mate floater.
The biggest trick here is really to find the time to brush your swimming pool while running the pump.
