Pool water leaking through the backwash pipe

If you are sitting with pool water leaking through the backwash pipe while the multiport is set to circulate or filter, then you need to change the MPV seal otherwise known as a wagon wheel gasket.

This is the black rubber seal which is located under the top half of the multiport. You can access it by removing 6 of the screws located on the top of the multiport. Once you life the multiport off you will see the seal. Remember to clean all the old glue out before putting the new seal in and remember to use contact adhesive not superglue.
