Fiberglass lifting from the surface?

Are you sitting with the problem of the fiberglass lifting from the surface of your swimming pool?

A common problem which many people sit with either caused from fair wear and tear over a long period of time or just plain bad workmanship where the contractor either did not put enough resin on the surface for the fiberglass matt to bond to this is called dry spots or the fiberglass was not given enough time to cure and was filled to quick which will in the beginning start off as a soft and mushy patch and finally ending up in a hole or the above example of the fiberglass lifting.

Now the bad news on this is the longer you leave it, the worse it will get and this is due to the chemicals which are in water and in the normal day to day floaters, granular chlorine and so on do not react well with a resin which has not been cured. It then goes behind the lifted fiberglass and starts eating the fiber from the inside out which then starts spreading throughout your pool.

I do not suggest trying to patch this as one can never know what damage has already been done and with that been said it is highly recommended that you remove the existing fiberglass shell and lay a new one this will ensure a good 20 – 25 years lifetime without any issues.
